I posted the cure for the crappy Dodge parking brake here on TDR in August of '07. Since coming up with this fix, my p-brake has NEVER failed, popped-off, or given me any problems. Back when this was posted, the discussion turned into an argument by some folks of questionable intelligence over the need for a p-brake. I came up with this after getting fed up with always having to chock my wheels since my '96 parking brake was dangerously unreliable. It is an easy fix and also makes your pedal function like a normal parking brake, meaning it stays down when you set it.
You will need to scroll down a ways in the post to where I reposted the procedure and photos after getting fed-up with the flaming and deleting it. A few members understood that braggart claims of "engine compression being all you need to park a manual transmission Cummins Dodge" were just plain wrong and asked me to put my fix back up.
