Yesterday I released the emergency brake and stepped on the throttle, the truck did not move. I let off throttle then stepped on it again. This time I heard and felt it release. I set the brake again and it released as normal. What could have caused this and what should I check? Thank you in advance. John

Another possibility - if the conditions were right for brake drums being wet when the park brake was set, or if the truck has not been driven for a long time with the park brake set, one of the brake shoes could have temporarily stuck to the drum.

Thanks for the responses. I had launched my boat and parked for half a day, so they were wet. I will also lube the e-brake cable. John

Use Teflon/PTFE dry lube spray, the cable is meant to be dry but after years of use it can bind.
Use oil/grease and it will bind even faster because it collects dust and dirt.
