What jobs have you worked?

REDNECKS!

Gene, the reason they do that is because zoning laws require a certain percent of green space to paved space. You can be sure that the Wal-Mart guys would love to see it all paved, they only do it because they have to.

I'll give you that illflem, but that does not count for making you zig-zag three miles, just to bring you back 20 feet from where you were parked to get out!
I'll keep driving over the curbs, a man has to make a stand sometime!

If there were serious about greenery, they would not have dug up that farmers field in the first place.
Clean water and cropland is disapearing way too fast.

Gene

I think that is almost as bad as some camping spots in state parks. You have to back to the right in the trailer blind spot instead of left, then you could see the rear of your trailer. Glad I finally got to complain about this.

Try plowing snow in those parking lots, Gene.

The school district I work for has designer parking lots and are they ever a pain in the neck! I can't tell you how many times I've ripped the plow frame apart because i forgot where the durn curbs were.

Since when are schools intended to have sex appeal? We have two schools that have won national design awards. I'm sure the kids learn more because of it. #ad

What really gets me is some cities require so many parking spots per 1,000 sq. ft. of store space. In order to get more spaces in the parking lot, they make all the spaces for compact cars. Try fitting a long wheelbase extended cab dually in some of those!!

I park out at the far end of the lot and take up 4 spaces and walk further. I don't get my doors banged up either. The biggest disadvantage is if the wind picks up, the empty shopping carts can get up pretty good speed before they hit your truck.

When my local Safeway supermarket added more floor space they were required to add more parking even though the old parking lot was never full. They had to buy two churches and tear them down for parking, cost more for the property than the addition to the store. I never see any cars parked in the new lots.

The parking lots up here at Purdue, have a no nonsense layout. But they are just the right size for geo metro's. As you can guess, my truck is a bit snug. My truck is a foot longer than the parallel spaces, the perpendicular spots are a foot wider than my truck. And it is hard turning into the spots because the road between the spaces are narrower than my truck is long.

I guess they'd be "not amused" if you were to flame off some of the paint-strips, and mark your new "supersized" parking spot with one of these: #ad

Yep, I agree some of these parking lots like driving on a obstical (sp) courses. And to think these people our 'Educated' and someone paid them big bucks to hose it up. Reminds me of a boat ramp on the river that points up stream. Sure makes things interesting... Someones better NIGHTMARE!!!

And I thought this was a problem only out here in Calif. #ad

There's one here that you drive in circles to get in and again to get out and the lanes are 2 way but only wide enough for 1 vehicle at a time. Makes things real interesting.

Every time I am forced to go into a Wal- Mart or a "Factory Outlet Store",
I am floored at the STUPIDITY of the parking lot lay - out. trying to make it look cutesy-poo will flowers and dead grass, that justs wastes more of our drinking water.

Bulldoze it flat, pave it, give us space for a full size vehicle and let it go!
And let me get out more than one place!I'm tired of jumping curbs because I can't find the exit!!!!

Am I wrong here???

Oh yeah I'm on your band wagon. The worst fact is that the same yo-yo's that come-up with our roads must do our parking lots here in MD they look too much alike. I push snow here (what a joke) and my favorite one liner is, "Hmmmm, wonder where all of this is going to go, oh wait that car hasn't left yet, okay! #ad

You think them parking lots are bad... One of local MacDonald's had a two lane drive-up that was designed by one of the guys that must have flunked parking lot design101... I could navigate through it with my last truck(3500)if I got the left front in the flower bed and the right rear duals over the curb and was **** careful not to hit anything... My next door neighbor told me he pulled in their with his supercab 250 with 17' boat on behind and when he got to this point in the drive-up he had to get about six cars to back up so he could back out... Guess it took about 45 minutes before he got out... I always felt sorry for the guy who had to plow this in the winter... They finally got smart and tore the thing out and redid it.

... . and what's bad is, they could make them alot better if they would just make the spaces diagonal. I mean, you drive down a lane that's barely wide enough for the truck and then you're supposed to swing into a little parking space that's 90* from you #ad
