IS THERE A PART # FOR A CAB LIGHT KIT FROM THE DODGE DEALER. THEY (DODGE) TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO BUY EACH PIECE SEPARATE, IT'S NOT A KIT. ABOUT $160. 00 FOR EVERYTHING. I THINK THIS IS B. S.

I got one for X-mas Part#82205120 But this is for the newer trucks, I believe it is 98. 5 - 2002 which already have the harness running thru headliner, Yours might need the harness as well as the light kit. I believe the the light kit was less than $60.

243 put em on mine for me. The cost for everything was right at 60. 00 or a tad less. I know they sure look neat. It is ironic in a way but when I found this truck that was the only piece of equipment I would have added even if I would have ordered it. (I might have got a different color but this color is growing on me).

I think that you'll find P/N 82205021 DOES include a wiring harness and that the only 98. 5 and newer trucks that already have the harness above the headliner are already equipped with lamps.

Unless things have been revised, the kits come with AMBER Peterson Manufacturing 120 lights.

JBOONE, I just installed my cab lights yesterday, I too used the part number supplied by one of members and it made it so much easier to just walk in to a Dodge dealer and tell them exactly what I wanted. Especially after having one dealer make me wait for 3 days while he searched and cross referenced  , then when he finally called me back he said the cost would be between $67. 00-$327. 00 "depending on what system I have", I almost wanted to return to that dealer with the real part number and see what explanation I would get, but needless to say I went to another dealer that had parts people who were a little more willing to look for what I needed while I was there. When you do go to install your lights have someone help you with the template layout, and make sure the white inserts that will go into the screw holes for the lamps are secure, or you may need someone to hold a pliers around the shaft on the inside of the cab, which can be a very awkward situation. Also I would just tap into the parking light wire behind the light switch ( Black and yellow I think ) instead of trying to hook it up to the fuse box like the instructions say to, I STILL can't tell where I'm suppossed to hook up that wire!!! Anyway have fun!!!! Happy New Year too!

If you take the headliner all the way down, you can pilot drill the wiring holes from the inside and then use the template on the outside. Makes for more accurate alignment. Also, for a place to tap, there is a plastic connecting block (mine was white) with ten wires running to it, hard by the steering column, black with orange tracer are the ones you want. I just popped off the back where the U-shaped spade connections are, and pressed another spade in there where it doesn't belong.

Is the above mentioned part # the correct one to use on my '01? I am seriously considering ading them but first need to get up the nerve to drill into my truck or find a trusted friend to do the drilling for me.

How hard is the installation other than putting holes in the truck?

I read that the '01 will have the wiring already in place? Does that mean all I have to do is install the lenses on the top of the cab in the correct locations?

Thanks in advance for the help.

yes the #82205120 is the correct part # for the Dodge amber cab lights. Bought mine at the stealer for about 52 bucks. the kit was easy to install other than getting the balls to drill 15 holes in a brand new truck that had no problems. Get some help with lining up the template tho. I didn't have help so it took a good 1/2 hour for me to be sure everything was lined up right, then drill away:eek: Mine did not have any wiring above the headliner yours may be different, but I wouldn't think yours has it either unless you have an overhead console. I really don,t know.

Good luck on your project. I must say these cab lights really do the trick in bad weather or at nite. I figure the more lights you got the better everyone else will see you coming.
