Hey guys,

I did a search but couldn't find the part #.

I'm Swapping in a ford intercooler on my 91. It takes 3" boots. I went to ford but they can't or won't find the part # for just the boot, They want to sell the whole piping asembly!

$135 for #6c646 and $95 for #6k786 !

If only I could get my hands on one of those boots under the hood of of one of those POWERSTROKES to write down the part#:D

This is very hazardous, Got my fingers slamd once today on the dealer lot and almost got ran over by two others while trying to flag them down!

Seems to be alot of hostility around here;)

I think

I'm pretty sure my neighbor has a 99 and he will let me look under the hood without fear of it slamming down on body parts:eek: . I will take a peek this evening and see what I can find out.

Hey guys,

I just purchased the intercooler hoses on E-BAY.

Thanks for your help :D

Glad I don't have to fraturnize with any more FORD owners. :p

Well the boots got here today so I thought I might post the part # so if anyone else needs it...

Ford YC35-6C640-KA

Thanks again for the help :D

If you don't mind my asking, How much were those intercooler boots?

I was going to reduce the size from the Ford intercooler to the 1st gen. Dodge stuff with a pair of 3" to 2 1/2" exhaust reducers. The Ford boots would seem to be a much better route. Cool...

Dennis...

$57 after shipping.

I have no idea what they cost from ford.

This price I paid included 4 clamps, and 2 boots.

I got the intercooler installed today, bumper, and grille on.

Tomorrow I'll finish the piping

I guess I'm going to have to find time tomorrow to trot on over to my Ford dealer and check on the price of the hose (boot) only, since I've already got all the clamps.

Being armed with the part numbers is a great boost since my local Ford Stealer parts people are so reader challenged.

Glad to hear that the Ford intercooler fits so well in your 1st generation Dodge. Only hope that things go as well trying to install the same intercoooler in my '87 Ford.

thanks,

Dennis... .

Ok,

I finaly made it to ford today.

The # that they gave me has one didit diferent than the one I posted.

# YC3Z-6C640-KA

The price was $39 per boot

Eric

cooler boots

DC wanted $75 for the 3" boot for my 2k. The Donaldson filter dist wanted $18

You might try your Donalson filter distributor.

Are These boots a direct replacement on the dodge intercooler system. Are they better quality? better able to withstand high boost?
