Yes and No Fleetguard p/n FF5089 will fit "BUT" it is NOT a Fuel Seperator just a straight fuel filter. In other words it has not only no provisions for the WIF sensor it won't catch any water in it. It still flows 90gph and is 20 microns, the same as the FS1253. Your choice. Shadrach

I run a Wix 33391. It has a drain plug on the bottom of it.

I'd rather run a Fleetguard but nobody's ever been able to give me a part # for one. I've asked Fleetguard reps, Cummins parts departments, parts houses, and nobody knows. I'll have to check out the one Shadrach mentioned.

Question here is, how often has your WIF lite come on? mine never has. If you check the drain as specified, once a week you should be ok. Just by your fuel at a good reputable place.

I'm sure these filters are a bit cheaper.

I use Fleetguard #FF5285 . Like said above, it has no drain but in the 180,000 miles I have driven my truck, I never got any water out of it anyway :=)

I'm not running the "drainless" filter for expense reasons. I've had that drain valve fail on me twice but it won't happen again. ;)

Like the others have said though, mines got 310K on the clock and the only time the WIF light has been on was when the electrical connector got water in it from me washing the engine bay out one day.

That's what happened to me. I was on the road and the stock drain developed a leak. When I got it home I ordered a new drain from Geno's. I put the question out there about an alternate part number. NAPA 3319 is the same as Wix 33319. Great fit. I will keep one of these for a spare with me at all times. I 've never had the water light come on either. Thanks for the info guy's. Mark

I checked with Fleetguard . The 33319 changes to a FF5282. Although it will obviously fit I wouldn't use it. It only hold 5 grams of dirt, has a flow rate of 31. 7 GPH and has an 18 micron rating. It is designed to work on the Suction side of the fuel system. By comparison the FS1253 will hold 12 grams of dirt , flow 62 GPH , has a micron rating of 20 and is used on hte Pressure side. Your call. Shadrach

The Fleetguard FS5282 may be 18 micron but the Wix 33391 is 10 micron. I called Wix and they can't give me a flow rate. Don't know what's up with that. Anyway, as far as filtration, 10 micron is better than 18 or 20 isn't it? And as long as I'm flowing enough fuel to feed the DD3's enough to slip my clutch without spitting and sputtering I'm getting enough flow, right?

Scott

Although 10 micron does filter "better" than 18 or 20 it can plug up quicker if you get any crap in the fuel, although this shouldn't be a problem if it is changed regularly. If you are under load and your power "just ain't there" it could be a plugged filter or one that doesn't flow enough. I guess I'm picky:) Shadrach
