Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Part #? For Idle adjustment rod?

Hey-

Just broke the rod with right and left hand threads on respective ends that you adjust idle with. Thought it was moving, trying to ease it as it's a little rusty and SNAP. Any ideas what a part # would be on that or where to get one? Short of a machine shop that is. Thanks for any help ya got. Jake



96 2500 auto 222k miles pretty much stock with boxes of front end parts waiting to be installed...

I beleive the part# has gone belly up from Dodge heard rumours from Cummins as well. Supercedes to an expensive pkg. Save what you have if you can. I planned ahead and saved some for my old 94

you were trying to adjust your idle with the throttle control rod? theres a 10mm idle adjustment nut thats probably easier.

Alright, I don't have a shop manual but I can search for a thread regarding the idle adjustment nut.

I broke my throttle control rod back in January. . actually, it broke on it's own. Fortunately I was only a mile or so away from my home and I was able to idle all the way back. After looking at the broken rod, there was some rust indicating that it was already broken about half way. I'd never touched it so I can't say how that happened.

Anyway, my receipt from the dealer on 1/29/08 says the part number is 5011957AA and cost $21. 60.

Hey Signal 73 Thanks for the link... ended up getting the whole assembly minus ball ends for 49 bucks at the surprisingly helpful local Mopar dealer. Thanks for the part # GrantP. He said the parts were getting scarce. As indication of a slow economy, I went into said parts department 3 times and all 3 service guys in there we're not up to much. Reminded me of the Maytag Man.
