Who here has specifically had a good experience with Bosch 190 injectors...?

What is the part number for the cooling system elbows in our trucks??? Is it a Chrysler part or a Cummins part?

Thanks,

Brian

The # printed on the hose is the Mopar/Cummins no. (3918266)

You want the Dayco No. (70001)

There is a NAPA #... ... ... . can't find it  Dayco will cross to NAPA

They are a tad long. You'll need to cut them about 1" off each leg. Use a hose cutter for a smooth clean cut or use the tool I see some guys use. I "think" it must have been a rotwiler.

Hmmm... . why do I want a Dayco/NAPA part instead of the Cummins part?

I haven't had luck with NAPA here... in some parts of the country they are probably great.

Here is the Cummins part number for the elbow, 3918266, product code CECO, Price 23. 25. This is the info off my invoice from Cummins when I bought one in July 2005 for 1993 truck.

I'll tell you why. I get the hoses for $4. 00 each from my NAPA dealer. The Dayco will be a good number at (most) any parts store :)

To be fair, may I add that the OEM 90° hoses are silicone and the Dayco hoses are not. They be the same as the large radiator hoses, reinforced rubber.

The OEM units are supposed to be a lifetime hose but I have always replaced them (on my two trucks) cuz nobody told me whos lifetime ;)

Welp... AutoZone says that part costs $13. 99?? Cummins will sell it for $24. 18... So maybe its worth the extra $10/ea for the factory parts?

Bill there are a few short elbows in the cooling system, one is right up top near the alternator... .

Ok, I got ya. I'd buy from Napa on this one before anyone else. I have mine all apart right now, I was thinking I'd replace those little elbows when I get the truck back from Scheid.

Went and got one for the 'bypass', 90*elbow near alternator just to the right of the t-stat from NAPA. ~$5. NAPA part number 7296.

I looked at my truck this afternoon, and sure enough that 90 elbow is oozing coolant. Yum. I looked around for any other small hoses and the only other I saw was a short, straight piece about 2" long down by the A/C compressor. Are there any other hoses I'm missing? I want to get these taken care of all at once when I do the t-stat and flush the cooling system.

Should I use any old 5/8" heater hose for the 2 hoses by the firewall? Should I just leave them alone? What about the upper and lower rad hoses?

In my dealing with Mercedes, hoses regularly last the life of the car, 20-30 years is not uncommon. However, this ain't a Mercedes!!
