Yeah it does rock. Quite a coincedence,as my first use was a jeep rocker cover as well. Had to buy whole cover from dealer as gasket was encapsulated. It was a "rush" job,so i didn't even clean the old gasket off, just laid on "The Right Stuff",and it never leaked. We see a lot of those style rocker covers in the shop now,and the only fix is new dealer cover or "The Right Stuff". Puts good money in my pocket. It's also nice for sealing something that is a real bear to get at,so you never have to do it again. I hate comebacks.
The stuff is now available in a regular caulking tube style now,as the string cheese type dispensers would clog up leaving it useless. With the price of the stuff, you don't want to throw it away. Loctite will actually replace any cans which still have products inside, but have clogged up. Just take it back to Napa or any other jobber. It is about double the price of silicone, but you can put it on very thin, and it won't squeeze out like silicone. It also doesn't go gummy in oil like regular silicone.
The permatex "Ultra Blue" was one of the better silicones out there, and now they also have "Ultra Black",if you don't like the blue color.
