I've read so many threads on FP guages that my head is spinning, and I want a reality check on the parts that I am about to order. My idea is to run diesel into the cab, and I will mount the guage in a pod below the ashtray, so line routing should be easy.

Here's what I think I need:

- tapped banjo bolt to be installed post-filter

- 1/8" IPT needle valve

- 1/8" pressure line (SS or vinyl with protective sheath)

- 30# pressure guage

- guage pod

I will tap the lighter wire for power, or use another add-a-fuse in the fusebox.

Am I missing anything, or does this look right ?

Thanks,

Damon

Looks like you have it covered, DON'T use teflon tape at your connections, Permatex #2 is a far better choice. If you tap fuse #5, your gauge lighting will dim with your dash lights, FWIW.

I would avoid running diesel into the cab. An isolator doesn't cost that much, and it turns out to be a wise investment when one of your drinking buddies that is helping you forgets to tighten the connection behind the gauge... . I only had a tiny puddle of antifreeze (from the isolator), which IMO is better than #2.

I'd go with the banjo/test fitting at the inlet to the VP44. An isolator is a very good idea in this case. I would recommend a 35psi gauge as that puts 18-20psi right in the middle of the sweep.

You could always find a vendor that has this kit available complete as well. :)
