6.7 exhaust manifold re-torque?

Hello,

Im betting you guys are the ones to ask what parts or deletions or programming do these 6.7 trucks need to be reliable and run good long term without check engine lights?

And what are the costs, not including labor. Im a decent mechanic. Im debating which year 3500 dually to buy, with 2002 being the earliest as I would like a 6 speed.

Thanks, Dave

Any Dodge truck built before 2007.5 model year with the 5.9L Cummins engines is good to go. Being they are not 2010 emission compliant any new truck built after 2007.5 and equipped with the 6.7L Cummins engine are 2010 emission compliant.

For the 6.7L Cummins engines for the model years 2007.5 thru 2012, I think you would need to spend between $1,500 and $2,000 to delete the emission. Also depending on condition of the truck and how big of and increase in performance you do. You may need to deck the head and replaced the head gasket. You will than need to install ARP studs and nuts to keep the head gasket from failing this will be more $$.

For the model years 2013.5 and up I would not delete unless you are having serious issues with the emission equipment on the truck.

I took the advice from you guys and drove 300 miles back today with a 2004 dually 5.9 , 6 spd 4x4 . four door. Southern Oklahoma rust free. Old girl needs some TLC but the price reflected that.

It only sputtered and stalled once on the highway coming back, I slowed down a little and it didnt repeat.
Im guessing fuel filters need RR, weak lift pump etc... Lots of other stuff to work on also.

So anyway I will mosey on over to the 5.9 section now....... :) Thanks for the advice.
