Which T-case for NV4500?

Dream'n, help me out.....

I am pulling a CTD with an auto this weekend (not running the auto going to use a NV4500) and was wondering what all I need to pull out of the doner truck. The truck is a 1995 2wd with no options. I am putting it into a 1982 chev 4x4 dually crew cab. The body and transmission and axle is all spoken for. Do I need the complete wiring system, any computers, lift pump is where? Basically I am looking for someone that can give me a list of what I need to pull so I can take this weekend to pull everything that I need to do the swap. I live in washington state and will need the preheater and stuff. Thanks for the help in advance.

Really all you need is the engine. You can make everything, including the preheaters, work with relays. The alternator can be made to work with an external voltage regulator. The lift pump is mechanical, below the fuel filter, bolted to the engine. You don't need any computers to make it run. I honestly cannot think of anything else that you must have. Might swipe the heater relays and wiring, and the connector for the fuel solenoid so you can patch it into your wiring. I wired my buddy's '90 GMC 4x4 CC w/ 96 Cummins, and it was cake once I got all the unnecessary stuff cut out of his harness.

tip

I used a chevy one wire alt. It has a built in voltage regulator, so all you do is run one wire from the alt to the battery. I can send you some pics if you want. It bolts up with the stock brackets, belt allignment is perfect, and no fab work is needed. Also you can get one from napa with a lifetime warrenty for 65 bucks. Thats much cheaper than a mopar part(around 235) Its been running and charging two batterys and doing great since oct 2001 and 25000 miles. copterdoc

pics. sorry I lied about the "no fab" part. You have to make a small stand-off spacer on the bottom is just a piece of flat bar with 2 holes drilled in it 1 and 1/2 inches apart. If you dont use the spacer the belt will squeak copterdoc

Great help on the alternator, might need that p/n for my other project.

I say pull everything!!!!!!

hook up the hoist first, then take everything assocated with engine, wiring, etc... . and throw it on the engine right before you pull it. Dont disconnect stuff cause you always forget where they the go again, plus this ways you know you have everything you need + maybe some you dont, but always better the have everything then not have something you didnt pull. You can always trash stuff later.

You should keep the computer, all engine wiring, engine grid heater wiring, etc...

I think once you get started you will end up pulling everything on the engine side of the firewall anyways.

Before and while pulling the engine and wiring, mark all unused electrical connections, if you dissconnect somthing that you know your not going to need mark it anyways, i. e the blower fan mark it. This will save tons of work in the end.

Pull rad, intercooler w/ lines, a/c, air box, gas pedal assembly and cable, etc... might not need some but good to have or even sell later.

This is what i would do, and figure out later exactlly what i need and dont need.
