Well here is a newbe. Just bought a 1991 LE 250 with 5. 9. I think that’s right. I need help. Two problems; on the passenger door I need the “PULL PART” just above the door handle. It’s the part where you pull to close the door and the electric window is broke. The electric motor is OK and the arm in the door is OK it’s the plastic gear in the passenger door is broke. Anyone know where, if any, I could buy that gear and not the whole darn motor. Any and all help will be appreciated.

Finding parts

My suggestion is to watch the classified and buy yourself a parts truck. They show up from time to time. Any thing under two grand will net you big time in the long run.



You just won't find things like a gear for the assembly. There are suppliers that sell plastic gears and if you can identify exactly what it is and if you can modify a standard part, you might replace just that gear. But not from Dodge.



Saw a classified that was mostly the cab and body. Post a want ad. You will get result but be aware of scammers that are looking for the easy mark. When I listed a truck I just got disgusted with the Bast***s

If I understand you correctly, you need the plastic gear in the power window motor?



If so, you can buy them at autozone for $25. It's a part that is normally in stock at the store. If you don't have autozone try your favorite store. It seems to be a common part. Dealer quoted $76 retail.

Absolutely!!!! Anybody running a first gen needs to establish a working relation with the local salvage guy.



My "salvage" man bought a first gen with a dead getrag. Boy did I get in some ataboys by putting him back to running. Already had the opportunity to get some cab parts off a junker. "no charge". If at all possible find a salvage guy and make friends with him. Buy him a beer or steak or something. Lucky me, the salvage man was already my friend.

thanks alot I've been riding around with the window not working for about two years. the cops will be happier when they have a license check and I don't have to open the door to show my license and registration anymore.
