Try wiggling the rubber housing that holds the wires. It is between the door and the fender. It could be a short in the wire. Also push the little button that activates the overhead lights when the door is open. Do these while the door is open, and you are trying to operate the window. It sounds like a short somewhere. Let us know if this helps.

I would guess a broken wire in the rubber boot between the door and the cab. These wires do a lot of flexing and can break. I had to fix one on a Frod once.

Wife slams the door

My wife loves my truck but she has this idea that the doors need to be slammed to shut properly. A few days ago she slammed the door and the window stopped going up and down. I took the door panel off and pressed on the plug-in terminal box thingy ( there are two of them - one blue for door locks and one red for the window - or maybe the other way around) and the window began to work. I then un plugged the module and sanded the prongs - there are 5 or so. Put the plug back together and worked it in and out a few times so I was sure of getting good contacts. Put everything back together and so far everything works as good as new. While I was in there I sprayed the window mechinism with some silicon lube. Need to be careful taking the panel off that you don't damage the little plastic holding pins or you may have to buy some new ones. Good luck, Lynn

Okay,

here's the verdict.

This is why the TDR Roundtable ROCKS!!!

You guys were right, there's a short somewhere inside that black boot @ the door hinge. Hold the window button and wiggle/squeeze the boot @ the same time and it works.

Add that to the list of warranty work.

Sorry for the slow response. I'm remodelling my office @ home and computer has been diconnected.

Thanks again guys!
