Passenger side air bag recall

06 3500, got the recall on the passenger side air bag several month ago, called dealer and they say no parts available. Anyone having any results on this one? bg

I spoke with the dealer as well. There are no parts available in the near future. I did just read in the paper that the company who manufactured the airbag has settled for a bazillion dollars.

Just brought in one of my 03's in yesterday. They had to order them. Received a phone call early this afternoon from the dealer that they do not want to held responsible for more damage to the dash board. My dash board has a 6" crack or so above the radio area and they stated when they remove the dash to get to the air bag that they may damage it further!!! The service manager said it's up to me! I told him I really don't have a choice, go ahead and replace it. I also, stated to him all of my 03's have cracks in the dash boards and that Dodge should have a recall. He told me "can't help me there", and the truck should be ready by mid day tomorrow, hopefully with in tact dash board!!!

My '03 doesn't have any cracks. Maybe that's life in northern Michigan, though.

My neighbor just had his done a few weeks back.

had the passenger side air bag replaced last summer,just finished replacing the dashand rebuilding the a/c-heater box.

We dont have the cracking dash issues here but even if we did, I would tell I'm not waiving any liability on their account and to do the recall or I'll call the states AG.
But the thing is, there's no reason they should disturb the top of the dash. It isn't removed or manipulated to replace the air bag.
