2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Passenger side brakes wearing too fast.

Anybody have any Idea why my front inside passenger side brake pad would wear so fast? It's done it to two of them so far. The pad wears out in about 35000 miles and the rest of them have about a third of the pad left.



Could the caliper not be floating correctly? What would cause it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

On my first brake job, both inside front pads were worn more than the outsides. I installed new pads and lubed the caliper to spindle slides. Does your truck pull left or right when you brake? Pulling cold be and indication that your slides are sticking. Mine pulled left. Didn't pull after lubing the slides, but for only about 100 miles. The anti-seiz (sp) I used wasn't high tem rated. Then I rebuilt the calipers, replaced the pads, and polished the slides. I used #240 and worked up to #2000. Used high temp slide lube from EGR Brakes and hasn't pulled since.

Back to original question: After lubing the slides the first time and new pads, my pads have been wearing evenly. Good luck and hope this helps, Tony.

I'll have to take everything back apart and lube it. I didn't notice the inside pad wear soon enough and I ended up having to replace the rotors. I needed it anyway...

How much did your rotors cost you?

I bought them at Kragen for about $91 each. They're the plain ones.
