Does anyone know of an existing hole that I can run the lead for my pyro through or have a good place to drill a hole on the passenger side of the firewall?

Scott

Why the passenger side? Run it on the drivers side thru rubber grommet below master cylinder. I have all my wiring running thru that point all three of my trucks.

Hope this helps.

Thank you, Wiredawg

Why the passenger side?

That's where I have it now. The lead is BARELY long enough to reach the guage and it's tight. My pyro isn't working good now and I suspect it's pulled loose somewhere from being so tight.

Joe, how hard is it to get to on the inside?

Thanks,

Scott

I think you will need to lean the dash forward to get to it. When I did mine my dash was out of the truck because I was cleaning up the mod wiring mess. The first picture shows the route under the hood. The second shows it under the dash. You can also see a couple of the cables in the second picture that are involved with wiring my switch panel that is where the cup spiller used to be. If you want to discuss the details or anything else about my wiring mods email me.

I'll see what I can get to when I pull the dash bezel off. Maybe pull out the glove box, too. It's not worth pulling the dash for.

Thanks,

Scott

That might work if you can find something to use to feed it through the dash. Maybe a piece of wire or something else is kind of stiff that you can feel around for through the radio hole. You might have to lean the dash toward the seat to reach it from above.

Got 'er done, Joe. Thanks.

I used a coat hanger and got it up between the firewall and the air ducts under the dash. Worked perfect. I was afraid to go under the ducts because of the levers and things on the HVAC stuff. Instead of being tight as a banjo string I now have a coil behind the dash.

Pyro works great again.

Thanks,

Scott

Same here. It all goes through the large rubber grommet on the driver side.

I run all my other wires through the rubber clutch hole plug on the driver side. The K type thermocouple and EGT gauge are calibrated to be most accurate at 70° at the end of the special wires. So when I had my dash out for other reasons I ran those wires through the firewall on the passenger side. They didn't reach all the way through the driver side. No big deal to do when the dash is out. From what BigPapa says it's no big deal with the dash in place either.
