Ok guy’s
The first order is in Kelderman air ride suspension front and rear. 1st because I’ve wanted it so long. (And because I’m a wimp on rough roads) Also I want it in place for possible compatibility issues on the next steps.
When the parts come in I’m taking it to Denver spring to have it installed, rear first (rear is already 1. 5 inch over stock height). Then raise the front end by adding a leaf/ leaves and arching or what ever it takes to bring it up level (to the completed and properly adjusted rear).
Better chain clearance in the front wheel wells is a big one for me. I have running boards I always have to take off before hunting season because its just to tight behind the front tires.
2) As soon as that’s done, the exhaust system. Starting with (Right now I’m thinking) “Banks Quick-turbo assembly” And then the 3. 5” (3” around xfercase I’m told) exhaust system. I’m concerned the Air ride structure may alter the route a “Kit” exhaust system may take and will have to wait and see I guess.
3) Banks Techni-cooler Intercooler assembly, Gauges pyro, boost, tach
4) Some sort of cross flow radiator. I am concerned about compatibility with intercooler, routing hoses and ducting etc.
5) Drop the transmission, transfer case and gear vender in preparation for the BD Torque Converter #1060210 for the 89-93 250-300HP rear wheel trucks, and any other appropriate part I haven’t figured out yet. Transmission cooler? (I know I know my engine is still semi stock that’s coming)
While I have the transmission and transfer case down might as well have them rebuilt. Like the Wife said, “if you do this, you are going to drive it until you die”
6) Air delivery. Swiss cheese the air box? K&N, suggestions.
7) When the above is done, time for injectors and someone smarter than I am right now on the pump timing and output. I am reading all the posts on TDR “READY TO LEARN MORE”
I am also concerned about the 250-300 HP rear wheel torque converter and semi stock engine if there is an issue here; in the time before completing the B. O. M. B. ing of the engine! (I love that term now that I know what it stands for).
8) New paint graphite in color & clear coat when I can afford it. I am going to try to keep this cash only. It looks ok now. Priorities you know
9) Gray line X in the bed.
10) Interior
11) Borgeson Steering Shaft
12) Espar heater
This project is funded with $10,000 Cash transferred from the (2002 Ram fund) to the "your out of your ******* mind" fund. I’m ready to liquidate other toys as needed man I’m pumped.
If anyone sees any flaws in my approach or has any suggestions, please I want your input; it will be greatly appreciated. I am ready to learn.
I have every issue of TDR from number 1 to spring of 2000. Because I just rejoined I should get the current issue soon and order the back issues I missed even though the are mostly geared to the newer production. My old issues are full of sticky notes from the last couple of nights to start the process. A suggestion of other resource books, or whatever would be also greatly appreciated.
Thanks Jim Johnson
