First of all, I have to express my gratitude to all of you... both to the ones who encouraged me to make the leap and those who contributed. Without this happening, I would probably have ended up waiting many more moons to get a truck...
Also, I really must say, that for those of you who have been so generous, I am at a loss to express my feelings. I don't know what to say. I can only say this, that I will do my best to use, enjoy, safeguard your investment. And, I will, in the future, do my best to pass on your generosity to others who may find themselves in need. I do not possess the means to repay each of you in kind. I can only promise that I will pass on, at every opportunity, the selfless and impulsive generosity shown to me, and encourage others to do the same.
TDR administration has allowed the instigators and coordinators to carry on their activities without any interference, for which I am grateful. Thanks, Robin and Robert and all the rest.
I am compelled, however, to ask that everyone not take advantage of the generosity of the TDR management, nor of that of the members. This isn't "my" forum, nor is it's purpose to be a vehicle for fundraising. So I ask you to no longer promote this. Pretty much everyone who's seen it has chosen to contribute or not, and we should not make anyone feel obligated in any way. This would reflect badly on the TDR forums and free and open nature. I'm sure there are many out there who would if they could, and there are many who feel no obligation to. We should not make any less of them for it. Not everyone carries a burden for every thing... And that is how things should be.
I must say that if you sampled 10,000 people of any country, at random, there is not even the slightest chance you would find nearly the level of good nature, nor the high caliber of individuals that have been assembled here. I count it a privelidge to be one of your number.
Thank you all so much again... And I hope you have as good a Christmas as I will. Not because of what I will have, but who I have to share it with.
Mark
