Hi Pb, can you tell me how your valet switch is wired - plumbed? Is it wired to an electrical switch to operate a soleniod in line to the AFC? Or is it plumbed to a switch type valve on the dash? I'm not sure which way to go, after studying both options.

TIA

Pete, mine is simple. . (that's a necessity for me)... There is a toggle in the cab. It is in an "always off" condition until thrown, then it closes a circuit and the solenoid allows boost pressure to reach the AFC housing inlet... simple... like me... ;):D

edit: BTW, with my current settings, when I am at WOT in low power mode I see about 32psi boost max... when I hold it WOT and dump the valet on, I jump to about 43psi in a wink... . course then comes the WM... . wild dude, wild...

Hey Bob, Do you think that with your Valet switch you get noticeably better fuel milage? Just wondering, My right foot is so heavy I walk with a limp :-laf

Thanks

Brenden

Well the mileage at the bottom end of the throttle is probably the same..... only difference is when I get on it hard... then the lack of AFC fueling will make a noticeable difference...

At least with the valet in place you'll keep your mid-upper end mileage will improve..... as long as you can leave the darn switch alone... :D:D:D

pb... .

Thanks Pastor, that's what I thought. The valve type switch would make the boost lag too much IMO. I'm trying to figure valves, switches etc. for the AFC, the air horn, homemade exhaust brake and stuff.

I would definately get better milage, I 've got the family deformity, right leg 2 inches longer than the left. :D

P. S. Where did you get your solenoid and how much?

I don't think you'll have trouble with boost response... If you set your starwheel properly you can have the AFC fueling come on at the best point for your needs... . When I have the valet on I have my starwheel set so that the AFC fueling begins at roughly 15-16psi... so, technically you can control when that fueling begins to become available. .
