PC Start up

I want to know how I can make it so the sound of my cummins starts and runs while I am either starting up the computer or even while its on? All you pc experts... ... ... ... . lets go... ... ... . I know, I know... ... ... how bad have I got it... ... ... ... . Oo. Don

Download the above linked wave file. Save it on your computer somewhere, I suggest in My Doccuments but any old place will work.



Now go to the start menu, to setting, control panel. Look around and find the icon for sounds... its uaually called "sounds and multimedia" or something similar (varies in win XP/2000/98 etc). Double click on that icon and it will open up. There will be a list of events in the window. Go down the list till you find "Start Windows" and click once on it. In a box below it will probably say "windows startup sound. wav". To the right of that there is a box that says "browse". Click that box and it will open a window for you to find a file in. Using that window find the file of your choice (the diesel truck sound) and double click on it. The file name you selected should appear in the window where it said "windows startup sound. wav". Now go to the bottom and click on "apply" and then exit.



That should do it... Maybe someone can record the sound of one of our trucks being shut off, belt squeek and all and we could use it for the shut down sound.

How can I get that file chopped down to just the first 6 to 8 seconds so my wife will leave it on there?
