I've been having transmission shifting issues for over a year now. I've got new internals, valve body, and a TPS but still having issues. My next possible option (by suggestions, and some reading) is to go to a dealer and have the PCM reflashed. I've read 50/50 on this working but I'm out of options at this point and this seems like my last option since no one can figure it out. Anyone have any input or had this done and what was your results? My transmission seems to have a stack shift from 2-3 gear (under lower throttle) and goes in and out of lock up. My new valve body is from Goerend and Dave said it's a PCM issue and nothing could be done about it...I hate driving with a transmission glitch like this. I've played with the TV cable a bit but seems to get me nowhere either...
 
Good luck getting a dealer to work on a PCM. I doubt there is a "reflash" available anyway, it is a pretty basic computer. Depending on the year model used ones can be had. I've found three for mine, one is installed, two are spares.
 
There was a flash for2nd gen 24 valves for in and out of lock up under light throttle.The flash will not repair shift issues.
 
I don't have any personal experience,but a friend of mine does. His local dealer told him he could get the PCM for his '98 12 valve repaired and it required a $50 deposit. After jerking him around for weeks they finally called and said there wasn't any support system in place for 20 year old PCMs and refunded his money. Believe the tech guy at you own peril.
 
Ok.. on further investigation It seems Dodge dealer was bluffing me on saying there was possible upgrades after speaking to them again. After also talking with Dave Goe... again it sucks being told there is no resolve. I don't fully understand why due to myself being a layman to some particulars of how a transmission totally works but am told it is electronic related. I've never heard of something being not fixable but....
 
What year is your truck? Mine wouldnt stay locked up and i installed a 5k linear potentiometer and set my voltage and now its great.
 
I can’t speak intelligently about tps on 98 12 valves but my 95 was easily modified to work with a set voltage and all of my gremlins are gone. You can try one easily to see if it solves your problem.

I see one is available from DNR. I've also got a pulsing going on while cruising at highway speed. Think I need to get one to at least try to see if it resolves my issues.
