Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Pcm ?

I am having issues, I had my ECM rebuilt but am still having some of the issues. My question is, if the voltage regulater in the PCM craps out will that fry my ECM and will it give me codes to alot of my sensors that the voltage is too high? If this is the wrong place to post let me know, I don't post too much and have not in a long time. Thanks

I would have to say you are right on track to what would be wrong i have never had that kind of problem but just from the electrical knowledge i have i would say you are correct!

Is your gauge showing over charge? A manual test showing over charge? The normal failure for the regulator is no charge, but anything is possible.



High voltage at a sensor is usually a bad ground somewhere, and it could be and internal ECM ground. Assuming you have checked all your ground straps and verified they are good. Getting a good remanned ECM is at times luck of the draw. It could take 3 or 4 replacements to get a good one.
