Thanks, TDR Staff

Website is gettin reeeeeeally slowwwwww!!

TDR being blocked

While the digital magazine is nice when the printed edition is not handy, it requires an internet connection to read. What I would really love is a PDF edition that I could download and put on my iPad and read without an internet connection. I would even give up my printed edition in exchange for a PDF version. I have this with my Trailer Life and Escapees magazines and really like it. If it were an option, I wouldn't mind paying for a CD containing an archive of TDR PDF files. Even if the older issues had to be just scans of the pages, it would be nice to have. Is such a thing possible?

Thanks.

The .pdfs are complete for Issues 40 - 75. The problem is that the download is extremely slow due to the significant file size. So we are now working on ePubs for each magazine which are significantly smaller. These will be downloadable. I know we're behind the times on this, but technology is expensive, and we're having to build this side of the magazine slowly. Thank you for your patience.

Hi, Robin. Thanks for responding.

I see the .pdf files for the indexes, but do not see .pdf files for the individual magazine issues. The current digital magazine does not appear to be downloadable like a .pdf file is. If there are links for downloading the individual issue .pdf files, could you provide a url where I can find them?

I am a software developer and took a quick look at the ISSUU viewer that is being used. It appears the publisher can upload a PDF file for viewing on the web. Viewing by the user is done on individual page images using the ISSUU viewing software that runs in the user's browser window. That pagination may be what prevents it from letting you download the whole .pdf file. Or, though I do not know for sure, there may be an option/setting on the publishing side of it to allow a user to download the entire .pdf file from within the viewer. Another option may be to put a link on the individual issue page for downloading that .pdf file (like the index .pdf files) instead of just using ISSUU to view it online.

Thanks.

I to would like to be able to download PDF files of the older issues. I love reading my current magazines at work during my lunch breaks, and I would also like to read older catalogues that existed before I joined the TDR group. Though I do have a computer at my desk at work, my internet access is very limited.

I would like to support this motion to download PDF's... or purchase a disc of PDF's of the back orders.
