Finally got time to trek up north and get my PDR cam installed:D It's been in almost a week. So far it has done every thing it is supposed to do. Lower EGT's (aprox 150 deg) Quicker spool up:cool: It cleaned up SOME of the bottom/midrange smoke. For those disapointed in this fact push Rt foot downward a little harder smoke can still be created;) As far as the mileage gain let me get some miles on to get an accurate idea on that. For those wanting that lope I'm afraid your going to be:{ because my truck idles as smooth as before.

So far I'm having a hard time finding a down side to the PDR cam as an upgrade, but then again look at where it came from PDR always striving for excellenceOo.

There is nothing I can add to this statement!

My wife, Kathy calls Piers "The Diesel God!" :--) :D Oo.

Jason, Sounds to me as if it is time for some more FUEL!!!!

Did you get that hole in your yard done yet???LOL

Keep us informed... .

you know the little guy would come through for ya... good to hear your EGT's went south. . you were trying the ticking bomb out before [melted pistons LOL]

You say it spools up quicker, Does it spool up sooner ( at a lower RPM) or does it spool up quicker from the same old RPM range, by the way at what RPM does your truck spool up at? can you give us the details?:D

drawson

It's always time for more fuelOo. But there is one more air upgrade in the immediate future, and maybe a little more fuel;)

Did you want me to keep you informed on the hole next to the house or the cam:p Unfortunatly the hole is still just that a hole and if I don't get something done soon I think I might be moving in anyway:eek:

Devildog

It might spool a bit earlier but not much but when it spools you got boost NOW Oo. Im still running the PDR modified HX35 w/16cm housing it now acts like a 14 and some times closer to a 12 housing. That's the best way I can describe it. It's like putting on a smaller housing and getting the EGT reduction.

So far quick mileage check I'm up 1-1. 2 mpg (2 tanks not real nice driving:D )

Jason

Jason, Just ribbing you some about that hole. :D   I have more than a few years worth of honey dos at my new house, so I know how it goes.

Keeps us informed on the CamOo. It's about time for a Piers Super HX-40 also...

PDR CAM

Torquie... ... . I plan on comming up to Spokane with Doug Hofeldt for Diesel thunder... . I would like to try your truck while I'm there???? I mean test drive a few thousand miles... :D :D I got to keep ahead of Drawson, he's closing the gap too fast... .

Steve

Oh come on Steve, You'll always have me beat you have 12 more valve:rolleyes: Even if they are just little ones:D

Dee just add some more of that heat tape. . be good for another 50 / 60 HP ;) [and maybe slip in another plate out of that collection you 12 valve guys carry around just incase a 24 valve guys shows up :p ]

Dee

HX-40 what's that:rolleyes: Does it give you more fuel;) I gota do something after our last dyno (Calgary) I can't hardly get out of my own way:p Are you comming up to play on Sept 7th

Jason

Hey Jason you found the magic spot on the web site without telling me? What is up with that, I wouldn't do that to you would I !!!! I need to do something because all the power I have now is useless for pulling the trailer because the EGT's go to the moon and you can not use the power at all especially at high altitude. I might have to build a set of twins and try that next but if that doesn't work I will just back off the power because the smoke is raising havac with the trailer.

What's the matter Blair???Have to stop every mile and break out the majic cloth because of the smoke on the trailer??:D :D :D

Steve

That,s right Steve thank goodness for the Magic Cloth or I would have a real mess on my hands. Really it is not the outside of the trailer I am worried about it is the inside, you would not believe the mess it makes. I am still not sure how it gets in there but it does.

Blair

I did find the magic spot on the web site, BUT I had to promise not to tell YOU:p I'm sure that if you'd found it first I'd still be lookin' too;)

Actualy Blair

We were doing the KDP tab and when we had the front cover off the cam fell out on the floor:( So with out a stock cam in sight we had to put PDR's in:rolleyes: Don't ya just hate it when things don't go rightOo. Oo.

Jason

P. S. The only way I found "that" link was to cross the boarder up north then look it up they've got better access up there :D

Well that settles it I know where my next vacation will be. I guess the front cover must be removed to see if the KDP jig drilled in the right place. ;)
