Cold start + Idle time?

To SHobbs, Gypsyman and others that are interested. Extrude Hone, themselves, and Dynomite Diesel Performance are the only two companys that have a machine like this. We are the only shop that has an in house dyno, drive in service, and an Extrude Hone Machine. This give us the ability to make quick changes if product R and D is necessary, and make sure those changes actually make a positive difference.

Our Extrude Hone is different from the others for a couple of reasons. First, we use tooling that allows us to do one nozzle at a time. This gives us the ability to balance the injectors, and in turn gives you a much smoother running and idling truck. Our tests have shown some injectors and nozzles that are sold have up to a 20% difference in flow rate within a set of six. Secondly our machine is capable of much higher pressures, which does a few things. First is its superior abiltiy to polish and radius inside the injector tip, which improves fuel flow. Secondly, with the higher pressures we are able to leave more seat area so the injector can close properly.

We are very excited to have this machine, and be able to help everyone who wants to go faster, get better mileage, have less smoke, and a better running truck. Please feel free to inquire further about our process.

Thank you

Ross,

Excellent post and good, solid facts. That's the kind of real world information that will win you customers and really get the phones ringing. Very refreshing and definitely what these boards need more of! Thanks for the straight up, no B. S. answers.

Richard

Hopefully I can talk my wife into lending me some $$ to get mine done up! I love these smoky stix I got but the Idle is a little testy. Do you only do diesel injectors? I'll call this week, should I talk to you Ross? or Frank? thanks in advance. Steve

great numbers cant wait to get my 3rd gen. Anyone notice the 04. 5 and 05 outdoing the 03 and 04. 4's in hp making ability like tommy was asking? I guess i maybe looking for and 04. 5 or 05. Tommy you have an SO and made 500hp with stock stix and no cam right? with some really good stix cam and twins you would be up there. Piers might have played with the pump too we all know he is capable of anything. :)

comment from the peanut gallery: quoting uncorrected #'s does not help anyone on this board. if that is a corrected number then good. (Its a good number no matter what). I am tired of hearing uncorrected... corrected bla bla... we need to say bring a corrected number or dont post it. I know this may come across a little crass it is not meant that way we just need to standardize how we say hp numbers to save us from having to even asking about factors and computing and posting etc. I will shut up now but i am sure most agree with me.

The only problem with correction factors is that some people tend to make it too large for their location. Then you get a standout number for an average combination. . When the word "uncorrected" is used, it lets us all know it's not just another BS number. It's the lowest possible power that combination could make. . I think it's great for vendors to use. . As far as the rest of us, if we don't go uncorrected, we just need to keep it honest. .

My guess is Piers's combo would make 730-740 with Water/Meth and a 50/50 mix.

Jim

Oh JIM. Oh JIM. Should I do it? Should I do it? No, No, I can't do it to a 50K dollar truck. 600-700 HP sure is tempting though. So... . should I do it?

you paid 50k for a 38k truck?

I guess I got taken to the bank. Sticker was 46 plus extended warranty 1600 plus step bars plus spray in bed liner. That is 48400. Then TTL, you get the point. Boy, you have me worried now. It is the Laramie with every option avail. Did I get screwed? You get the point, do you call up Piers and have your credit card ready to mod such a pretty new truck? :{

No problem on the Hi jack guys it happens. We just got a loaded Mega Cab for 38 Man that is one cool truck!!

Ross

Oh yeah and we put injectors in it already too :D. Man what a difference, no smoke, and actually really fun to drive!

Are the ones Piers running the 75hp or 90hp version?

How much smoke? Daily drivable?

These are our off the shelf injectors @ 90hp. They are 100% daily driveable! Smoke is very low. These injectors, and a set of gauges is an awsome running truck. Or If you want to go wild they have the potential.

Let me know of further questions :)

Once again the TDR points out that I need more stuff for my truck...

Fluidamp'r

DD clutch

Twins

Now Another good Injector manufacture... .

You guys need to stop before I starting breaking stuff :-laf

RFahlen, I know you have a couple 12-valve injectors (stage 3 and 4). I know this is a 3rd Gen thread but are you guys doing any further development for 12-valve or any other injector sizes?
