As those of you that showed up must realize, it must have taken a lot of effort to plan and organize such a big event.
Piers and his crew really didn't want to see the Sleepy Hauler show up on a flatbed at 1 o'clock on Thursday with a blown clutch. They were in full prep mode and were trying to get their last "emergency" customer out the door so they could clean the shop.
After hearing my tale of woe, they found another SB clutch for me, ripped the old one out, installed/tested the new one and even fixed a pesky oil leak. I was home by 6 o'clock!
I must say however that I was worried at one point. Piers came back from a parts run at 2:30 and announced that he had stripped 3rd gear in his truck. At that point, my transmission was sitting on a stand looking very very available. He decided, however, that he had time to fix his before the next day. So at one point while everyone was trying to clean up around them, there were two trucks up on the hoists without transmissions.
By the way, how much Hp do you need to strip a gear that size?
What can you say about that kind of service? Piers, Louise and crew, thanks again, you're the greatest!
