It seams the stock hx-35 and the new PDR Hx-35 have different oil line inlet sizes, or this is just my luck. The new PDR turbo has a smaller oil inlet hole. Does anyone know if they are both standard pipe tread or are they metric.

Thanks,

Jason

I can't say that I had this trouble at all. Mine just bolted right on and away I went. Your best best is to call Piers.

thanks for the heads up Hemi-dart,

My stock turbo is black and the paint job made it look like a one piece unit:p My Mistake.

Thanks,

Ray,

Providing you have the right tools and your engine is cool, I changed mine in under 30 minutes.

The key is to have a long 15mm wrench to get the bolts loose on the bottom side of the turbo. They are a real PITA to get to and they are in a location in which it is hard to get good leverage. Overall the job is really simple.

Oh ya, turbo swaping is a breeze, unless you have to change the down pipe or you can't get the bolts that hold the turbo to the manifold loose. So then you have to take off the manifold, which inturn reguires new gaskets. Then it turns into a two day project, don't ask how I know this, but I know. The one good thing out of all of it is that the PDRHX40 is now on the truck.

Really the swap from an HX35/HY35 to a PDR HX35 is painless. It all bolts up in a short time. When I did this change it took me longer to find the extra bolts I needed than to actually do the install.
