I run my Comp at 4/5 most of the time (unless it's wet/slick) and the PDR-40 keeps the EGTs under 1200. On 5/5 I can get the temps above 1200, but not over 1300.



Note that I also have a 4" exhaust, and Psychotty intake -- your temps will probably be higher with a stock air intake.

PDR HX40 it is

I got my order in this morning. Should be shipped today! Thanks for all the responses. I do have a 4" exhaust and a Scotty II air intake. I think the HX40 will be right for me. I like to play a lot and tow a little. Charles at PDR said my egt's may be a little high towing with a hx40 as opposed to an hx35. Does this sound right to ya'll.

my egt w/ tt on warm day was puchin 1,000. [levelcruising] its normal w/ the 40. i sure liked to be able to climb hills at wot without my eyes glued to the pyro. that pdr40 was the answer to my problem



big brass monkey states that a 14 or 16cm hsing on a pdr35 is the way to go. no way. when i did the pdr35/16 my egt skyrocketed over stock turbo making my truck unusable for towing. also kevin whitmore had the same prob when he went to a 14cm on his hx35
 
I second what RADodge said earlier in this thread. My own relevant truck details are in the profile link below. I have put more than 30k+ miles on since my DTT and Piers makeovers :D in Canada back in 2001. Reliability and longevity in a daily driver that does not disappoint. talk to Piers and be honest about what your expectations are and then make an informed decision. If I have my Lance camper on board and/or making a steep gradient, sure the ETs will rise, but a careful watch on the gauges will help you keep on top of things.



I just checked the peaks on my SPA gauges and got these readings



max boost of 30psi

Pre/post -Pyros 1747 deg F & 1250 deg F



(although that was just a one-off test some time ago to see what the top-end limits really were. More usually it's around 850-1000 deg F , peaking at 1250 deg F and 25 psi and all this in a daily driver which is also a lot of fun to drive - what more could you ask?).
