40 foot gooseneck

Need 3 cars hauled from ALBQ, to Roch, NY

Well I just got the install done on a new set of PDR Towing Twin Turbo's you can see them here. http://www.cliffandsandy.com/blairs Twin page.htm

So far things are working out great, I have the boost set at 55lbs max with a stock head gasket and a set of studs to save some money for the guys not interested in getting carried away. This setup is for towing not drag racing, so far I have not towed but couldn't wait to share it with everyone.

The Fit and finish was great no modifications were made to any of the parts I received and it fit perfect. After a few wast gate adjustments I am now able to roll on the throttle at 40 mph and at 80 mph the pyro was at 1000 degrees at 55 lbs of boost. I will keep you posts on the progress and testing.

Regular Twins have a PDR 40/16 setup for Twins with an HT3B/26, Towing Twins are a PDR35/14 setup for Twins with an HT3B/23.

My setup is just like the bigger Twins except I have the B/B on bottom, the rest is as identical as can be.

just application

plumbing and configuration is same, the only difference is application. For those of us that tow heavy, we want as much useable power and cool air as we can get our hands on. Hopefully this will lead to cooler water temps on long pulls. Most guys running twins are looking for just flat out mega HP. With the towing twins, i believe you are going to sacrifice a little top end at the benefit of a wicked bottom end. I cant wait for the report back on towing the trailer. It already sounds like they work better empty than my single does, so it will be sweet to have the cake and tow it too.

Well I got my new wastegate setup on last night and at WOT to 85mph with the wastegate opening at 32 psi I get 1200 degrees at 3000 rpm's, total boost is 53lbs. At lunch I will test it again with the wastegate coming in at a higher boost level and with the wastegate turned off. I think for towing we will have to have the wastegate turned off but with the flick of a switch it can be turned back on. The temps were lower with the wastgate turned off but I am not sure I can controll the boost. I will tow the trailer tomorrow for the final test.

OK note to self don't run without the wastegate empty, the boost went soaring right by 60lbs so that is all the data I got before a panic lift of the throttle. It sure seems to run very good up there but I am sure the head gasket will not last. So I will try some more adjustments after work and see what happens.

NOW I AM HAVING FUN !!!

Cliffman as in the truck was empty and you can really hot rod it, now if the trailer was on I wouldn't have been on the gas so hard.

Well I took the trailer for a test spin on Saturday and it worked out pretty good. I think there is still room for improvement but so far so good. The bottom line is about 7 to 10 lbs more boost most of the time and my MPH is up by 4 MPH on my test hill and instead of 1300 degrees I am now at 1200. I have a few more ideas so lets see if I can make it even better. I was able to maintain 45 lbs of boost and 1200 degrees all the way up the hill.

I'd say that's pretty good Blair. To gain 4 MPH and at the same time lower your EGT's 100 degrees is a significant improvement and a huge step in the right direction!! Good job! We all new it would take twin turbo's to really make a difference when towing and to actually use the add horse power we have. We should plan a trip to Cummins West and put your truck on there dyno to see what horse power your using at 1200 degrees. Oo.

DRAG DIESEL,

I could be wrong but Cummins West is the only place around that can hold you at a set horse power while you check your EGT's. I don't think you can do that with a "Jet" dyno.
