Ok since i posted this topic, I figured I would post my resutls... .
I decided to give in and pierce that pump wire, course lucky i am a contourshinist (sp) cause that is one $%^*ing tough wire to get at. There is no way to cover up tapping that either. Its obvious its been tampered with. The connector edge uses will definetly leave a mark, not to metion it barely fits between the 2 wires. So having to pull apart the 2 wires... well its clear sumone was monking around with them.
Now for the results, this is all by seat of the pants judgement.
Before the taping of the pump wire, there was a definate gain in hp, although nothing to really brag about. It did make it a bit easier to drive around town though. If I had to guess, considering the weight on a 3500, it was around 40-50 hp gain at the wheels on setting 5/5. Adjusting the settings while driving around 65 on the highway, you do feel a slight difference between the settings, but nothing to write home about. I did notice with the comp box, that if You were cruising around town with lil to no boost(10 lbs or lower) shutting of the box at any settings didnt yield any difference. So it was clear the box was not doing anything to you really started to put some foot into it. As soon as you got around 2k on the tach then it was a different story. It really started to pull pretty good.
With pump wire connected, it started to make a lil more difference on overall feel. It still reacted the same, nothing until 2k on the tach. If I had to guess, I would believe about around another 40 hp in addition the the already 40-50hp already given. So at best, 90 hp to the wheels on setting 5/5. Now mind you I am still running the stock clutch, & I am unable to slip it as of yet without a load.
All and all it is a definte power gain, although not as much as an ETC might respond. With the addition of some injectors, and a larger turbo, it should make most folks pretty happy. Right now as it stands, it pulls as stock would up to aorund 1800- 2k then it kicks in.
These are just my observations in my truck. And by no means how it will react in everyones ETH.
Thanks
