I'm thinking about selling my EZ to a friend who just bought a 00. I thought I might replace the PE Hot 3 and EZ with a PE Comp because of adjustability. Will the Comp put out the same amount of HP as the Hot PE and EZ? I don't want to loose any HP in doing so. Has anyone done this? How do your dyno numbers compare? What are the Pros and Cons to doing so?

I installed the PE Comp last Friday. My first opinions are as follows;

1. Very adjustable (25 different settings), would be great for towing.

2. Less smoke and boost that my HOT PE on #3 and EZ Boxes.

My boost went down form 42# to about 40#.

3. Very smooth compared to the Hot PE and EZ.

4. Doesn't have the punch at 1700 rpm that the Hot PE and EZ has. However Brett at Edge told me it would not.

5. Lower EGT's

Brett told me that it would be a lot smoother, which it is, would not have the punch that the Hot PE and EZ, this is true. I was concern that I would be loosing HP with the Comp compared to the HOT PE ane EZ. He said that in his R&D, he turn the Comp up and check HP, then he started backing the Comp off till it started loosing HP and then quit. He said that he goal was to keep the maximum HP and minimize the smoke.

I still not convinced that I haven' lost HP with the Comp. Being we are having a Dyno Days on August 18th he told me to keep all the boxes and make Dyno runs in both setups to compare the total HP on both setups. Thanks Brett, I really appreciate your customer service!

I also sold my EZ for

For a Comp. It should be here in a couple of days.

Thanks Fred@Canyon State Components. This is great service.

You could Sky, but you'll have to pierce the injection pump wire for the COMP. Its about 120 to 150hp depending on the program in the highest setting. Your best move would prolly be injectors, DDII's + EZ = roughly 300hp. You put the COMP on and you'll need a different turbo most likely. Just something to think about. With an EZ and II's once you get that spring and get bout 28 to 30psi of boost, you should be able to keep your HY35. Whats the altitude your at?

I have been at the edge and seen two HOs with both boxes and then just the comp and the HP was with in 5 of each other and the EGTs where down on both truck with the Comp. I'd be running a Comp if my truck was electronic.
