i'm wondering:

will the PE Comp work with the Banks Ottomind?. my Van Aaken isn't doing it for me any more. don't get me wrong, the Van Aaken is a great box ,but i have a severe case of bombitis:D always looking for more power. i'm putting my Van Aaken and a set of 275's in the classifieds to help fund my addiction. i also like the option of finger tip adjustments with the comp. and john, yes i know i'm on the hairy edge already. thanks for any comments... . james:)
 
Just a question...?

Sounds like your going to have a nice step up when you get that comp box. Why do you want to keep the Ottomind though? Just courious why your not putting that up for sale too.

You may want to consider carrying an extra output shaft and tools to replace it:eek: You are going to be cranking so serious hp???

Will you be going from mpg to gpm???

The Ottomind runs gauges? I didn't know that, but I'm still learning all this. Must be like the TST 10 level box with EGT, and boost. Learn sumthung new everyday.



The blue headlights I can't remember where I got them but if you really what to know what kind pm me. They are terrible for night, and rainy driving though.

The ottomind will not work with the Comp box, you can use the EZ with the Ottomind. I ran that setup for a while and actually wish I still had it. The comp makes the truck run too damn hot. Even on the lowest setting.

If I'm not mistaken, Both the Ottomind and the Comp attach to the injection pump wire. If that's the case you may as well just take off the Ottomind,because it will not work in conjuntion with the Comp. The Comp will out-voltage,and run over the Ottomind,and you won't have the EGT cut back feature. Understand what I'm saying?
 
miker is correct james , running the ottomind and the comp will not work as you think , the ottomind will shut it self off at the overtemp , but the comp will keep things going .



what you need to do if you really want to break parts is ditch the banks stuff , except the hiram and exhaust housing , get a comp and a piers turbo , and either keep or ditch the propane .



actually what you should do instead of the comp is keep your VA and get a power edge like i have or a 4 wire blue box , though the PE is adjustable on the fly so to speak and the bluebox is not , this will make more HP than the comp .



why do you think i DON'T have a comp ???

yes i'll run ya ...



as far as turbo , still the stock 35 with the boost elbow , the jury is still out on which turbo is best for the money it is going to cost me , i MUST keep my stock turbo , enough of the modified and hx40's have broken in some form that i can't have my truck down for a week waiting for a replacement or a warranty to kick in if it will . majestic told me to pound sand on that HX40 that went bad on me , and i'm not paying them 500 to have it happen again .



was looking at the ATS unit mikepvg was talking about but the cost and some issues i have with it have put it on the shelf for me at the moment .



i am hoping to slap a piers loaner on my truck and get to the track before the end on the month , i may even put dd2's in , when i had the 275's and VA along with the HOT PE, i went faster in level 2 than hot level 3 . this shows me that EGT plays a big role in usable HP , i hit 1500 before half track as it is setup now , if i cpould stretch out that 1500 to say the 1000 ft mark or a bit further i'll easily see a hi 13 sec slip, which is my goal on the stock tires.

i'm just lucky i have two top notch transmission guys i can give my hard earned money to:D . i'm going to head out of here tomorrow at 12:00 to come up to scotts. are you coming?? if ya are we can talk about the best BANG for the buck box. i have three guys hot to get my Van Aaken and 275's so i will be able to afford somthing more user friendly i can adjust to parts breakin' levels:eek: . . james
 
yes , i'll be there james , maybe if i feel a bit self sadistic i'll pull off my PE and we can slap it on your beast ... is your propane up and working ?

Correct. The later Banks 24v Ottomind (the Ottomind TLC) is used to drive the Banks Dynafact gauges.
