Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Peddle to the metal and gauges !

This may be a dumb question, but I need to ask anyway, cause

I just don't know .



When pulling a load is there any thing wrong with putting the peddle to the metal for a while, maybe even an hour ?? As long as the gauges stay within safe ranges that is.



I have four non-factory gauges; FP, Pyro, transmission, and Boost. Now for safe ranges I mean,



FP = 12. 5 psi or more

Pyro = 1250* or less

transmission = 180* or less

Boost = I have stock fueling for now so it doesn't matter I guess



I have 4" exhaust and a Wildcat Flow kit to keep the FP and EGT's in check while under WOT and having stock fueling.



So is there anything that will go bad with extended peddle to the metal while towing, that my gauges will not alert me to ????

When these engines are used as generators or fire pumps they start at full throttle and are governed to rate rpm. The BTA and K19 here at work have never seen idle in 10 years only the rated 1800 rpms. One second they are shutdown the next they are making lots of noise. I'd say no problem as long as things are in spec.

For some reason though it just doesn't feel like the best thing to do. I have always driven a little conservative, and it will feel like I'm doing something wrong to hold the peddle to the floor for a long time. But, like you guys said, if the gauges are in spec then there should be no problem.
