I have read several threads on here about guys using the new fusion? paints for plastics and talking about how well they work, My original chrome grill is cracking and peeling pretty badly. You really don't see it as it sits behind my Ranchhand grill guard. So I have been playing with the idea of pulling it off and stripping all that chrome plastic off and then just painting it. Has anyone tried this or have any reasons why it should or should not work?

Thanks!

Jon

Their is nickle under the chrome I just used a DA sander with fine grit and sanded down to the nickle. Then had body shop paint it thats been over two years ago, still looks great.

Blend out those peeling areas and the Fusion paint should work well for you.

I have used both Fusion and Rustoleum’s paint for plastic on my grille and I prefer the Rustoleum. IMHO, it seems that Rustoleum produces a harder finish.

I used the Fusion paint on the honeycomb... it works good. My chrome is still looking good but my center badge Ram head has come off. Gotta find a replacement.
