Who needs OSHA????

S&W 500 Magnum-- anyone have one?

What are your thoughts on a pellet stove? I have a 6 year old house with a brick fireplace that has a 25 year old buck stove insert. This stove is dirty and not very economical. I have been diagnosed with 5 bad discs in my back, so that puts an end to cutting wood anyway. I have been looking at the Harman Pellet Stove "Invincible Insert". I was wondering if anybody out there has any experience with pellet stoves, particularly inserts.

Also, I don't have any outside buildings, what would be the best way to store pellets?

:) Many thanks!

My dad has a pellet stove in Colorado, and it is great. You store the pellets in a closet. They come on a 50 pound bag.

I had a pellet stove at my old house. Works great, no smoke, little ash. BUT, if the power goes out you are out of heat. Needs electricity for the blower. Small tactical mistake on my part.

If I did it again, I'd go with a regular wood stove.

Hint: Buy the pellets by the pallet. Cheaper and they store well.

Best,

Steve

I heated my home by wood heat only for 10 yrs. I've used pellets for the last 13 years.

Pellet stoves work great, I buy the pellets by the ton 50 sacks for 169. 00

Lignetic pellets are close to #1

Buy a very good stove. I recommend Whitfield. Same stove used every year every winter with very minimal replacement parts.

I also have a generator for power outages, so the pellet stove works fine for me.

Just don't try to do it on the cheap :( Buy the best stove and the best fuel and be happy

I don't know that much about pellet stoves. I have a Country Flame fireplace insert that we heat our house with. But my brother has a pellet stove and said it works great. He bought an ole farm house several years ago and had it moved to his property and remodeled the house. His places is across the highway from the Dell Diamond out of Round Rock,Tx. It was a ole two story house they bought. Anyway he said the stove works great heats the ole house. I don't remember what brand it is.
