US Energy Secretary's Comments On Oil Prices

ve pump?

Bajabob, there is no way that the Mexican citizens can aford $5. 00 a Gal. never...

By the way, is the station you're talking about in TJ or after the big hill on the road to Rosarito? At the bottom of the big hill, on the left side, there is a station - but the last time I was there - there was no diesel there. About how far from the border is the station you're talking about (in miles)?
Stay on the road that parallels the international border and turn right at the bottom of the big hill. It'll say"Las Playas". head west until you hit the first toll booth. On your right is a AM-PM station with diesel and anything else you might need except for a quick return trip. You can turn around and head back from there. Follow the signs back that say San Diego. Typically,you'll be a nervous wreck by the time you hit the border. Mid-morning works for return trip. There's plenty of stations in TJ,but I get hopelessly lost everytime I deter from the same route. :)

Was down in rosartia yesterday and the station just west of the 1 was out of diesel and there was a long line. I had filled up below ensenada, but wanted to top it off. Glad I had fuel in the truck.

When we did fill up it took 23 gallons on my brothers Duramax. he had 1/8th tank and has a 23gallon tank... go figure...

Even scammed at near 10% it was still a good deal.

No 'mo diesel in Mexico.

Yeah,articles in today's paper document the shortage of diesel. Almost no one in Mexico owns a privately owned diesel pickup as it just became legal. The shortage is due to border residents on our side crossing over and exhausting their supply. I imagine Mexico will limit diesel to commercial users only soon.

Enjoy it while you can guys - that "hole" in low cost diesel availablity will be closed VERY quickly - count on it! ;)

That tears it. All the good things NEVER last! I was all set to enjoy long term discount diesel and just fill up my nice, new 100 gallon tank once in a blue moon for a song. And they won't even accept our gold but insist on silver. It shows you what has happened to our tired, old Greenbacks. They used to be King! :{

It has nothing to do with our currency. You're better off stopping at one of the currency exchange kiosks approching the border and converting dollars to pesos. They will be limiting diesel sales to trucks and buses rightfully so, in order to use the fuel most efficiently. Pemex hopefully will increase supply to the border stations. Meanwhile,anybody with a diesel vehicle thinking about traveling down south better think twice. Another blow to tourism which the working class certainly doesn't need. :{

As of today, Sunday, the San Diego paper says that the supply of diesel fuel in all of Baja California has been disrupted by excessive demand caused by Americans draining their supply. PEMEX suggests a ban on sales to US customers. We'll have to see how this gets sorted out.

Maybe we need an agreement with Mexico that each illegal alien from there must be carrying two 5 gallon cans of diesel fuel if caught, or else be shot on the spot - and the fuel to then be distributed to winners by lottery...

That alone would supply about 80% of diesel fuel demand in the US... :-laf:-laf

Anything but this overpriced crap they sell us here... just spent $580 to fill the '03:{:{ and will probably be filling at least 2 more times in the next week !! :{:{:{

Gary,

Maybe anyone other than Mexican citizens should not be sold fuel under any circumstances, and if the American insist, Pay double, this way there will be no debate or discussion,

How about that?
