Just installed the Edge EZ. I can hardly contain my excitement!!!!:D Everyone who has a stock 24 Valve on this site should make this one upgrade (Add a EZ or similar to your truck). And don't tell me you will after the warranty runs out either! You will have another truck by then! This has been the best thing I have done to date. I can't wait to tow the 22' trailer. Also boost is now up to 27 psi. EGT are lower than

stock at WOT by 150 or more (no bull). I did notice my air cleaner gauge has move some (35% mark). I will change it tomorrow and see if boost goes up. I think it will. All my buddies are wide eyed now after they drove it BOMB'd. The truck hauls at only 1/4 throttle and boost goes up to 16 psi at that level. All I can say is WOW WOW WOW. :D:D Now I want some injectors!!!! Those of you still on the fence get off it! Your butt would feel lots better!;)

Chris Brandt

Very happy in Alaska!

I feel like a kid at Christmas!!!

:D ;)

I'll second that about the Edge EZ. Its the best money I've spent so far. After installing it and the power that it produces I have no desire to add any other performance mods to the engine itself. This is one great product... ... ...

We'll see if you have the same story a few months down the road :D Just a little more (hp) and I'll stop... ... ...

Word of warning : Don't ride in any "BOMB'ed" Rams that are modified more then yours... ... you'll want to make your like theirs! Hehe

other claims?

What about the claims of 3-4 MPG improvement with the EZ? Fact or Fiction?

I saw it somewhere, but I can't find the quote . Still looking.....

I have a VA box, and have been surprised by recent posts about problems people have been having with them (I've had none ... yet). Has anyone switched bewtween a VA and an EZ (in either direction), to give some idea of the performance differences?

I have to second what KatDiesel said above. DON'T RIDE IN SOMEONE ELSE'S BOMB'D RAM.

I got to drive Fred Swanson's (CSCpusher) '00 with EZ, Edge Comp and DDIIs for two days while he put in my DTT VB/TC. He had an extra EZ that I bought from him for mine, but it really was a let down after driving his truck.

Don't get me wrong, the EZ helps up until about 2k and then your approaching the stock fueling level. That is where injectors really compliment it, by providing the addtional power up to redline. They are next on the BOMB list, then maybe a K&N and I'm done.

Chris,

I have one ordered from D. I. S. and hope I am as happy with it as you are. Was it a snap to install?;)

Hi Rogerblind, I ran the VA on my new truck from 500 miles to 5000 miles with no problems. I was testing the EZ for a shop in my area and I noticed no SOTP power difference. I did think that I could get better mileage on setting 2. I did improve about a mile per gallon using cruise on the interstste and taking it easy around town (glad that over). It takes a good hill and lots of go pedal on this setting to get the boost to come up. On the aggressive setting it like a whole new truck :D . When I install injectors there will be an adjustment that the VA does not have. Oh Ya, I did trade for the EZ. The truck is starting to feel like stock power wise, time for injectors  .

Once you locate the plugs(which was easy) it will take about two minutes :)

Got mine from HVAC and love it. It actualy took 2 seconds off of my 1/4 mile time. Not to sure about mileage, I know its better but not sure how much. My right foot is waaayyyy to heavy to even try to compare tanks for MPG

Chris

EZ = fun:) I've had mine in for a month now and am getting used to it. Maybe I should unplug it to remind myself what stock was like. I had my 4" Jardine exhaust installed last Thursday. Great combo.

My mileage did improve some ( I track every tank ), but more like about 1 mpg.

I pulled my trailer down to the dealer to look at my electric brake control ( another story later ) yesterday. On the way back I drove around looking for hills to pull. When it was stock it did OK, not great. Now I'm all :D

I'm thinking of 275 injectors. Anyone out there have this combo.

Chris

Dollar for dollar this is the most fun and easiest mod you will ever do to these trucks. The only bad thing is that the 275 RVs aren't enough any more so the DDIIs will be coming shortly. I also got mine from HVAC when they first came out . Great service from a nice guy.

CBrandt - Welcome to the dark side from a fellow Alaskan BOMBer. The EZ is a great upgrade but you will not be able to stop. Maybe one day you would like to ride in my truck... ..... Or maybe come by and watch me install my DD3 injectors and new turbo... ... or maybe help with the SS fuel lines and lift pump relocation project... ... I started with a PE and said that would be enough for ever..... HA HA

Drop me an email if you want a ride... ...

Wait until you pull that 22' trailer up a grade. Your going to stop at the top of the grade and get out and to the "chicken dance" at the top.

As far as mileage, I havent moved it off setting 3 so it had stayed the same for me.

It took all of 30 min. to install the box! The 4" exhaust and gauges took the longest. There is one problem with the box... . ???? Now I want more! Can you say injectors?????? Can you say more money??? I new you could! Best thing I have done to the truck. You won't believe the change it makes. Niether will the guy you blow past with a stock Cummins or V10. :D

Chris Brandt

I've noticed some people talking about setting levels on the EZ. I was under the impression that the power edge "EZ" was a single setting box. Am I mistaken? I've been thinking about buying one before doing trans upgrades (or guages for that matter)... is this a bad idea? Also any comments on the improvement in acceleration? If the help is mostly down low would it be wasted with 4. 10's? thanks...

Well, I'll post my experiences with my EZ. Mine is actually the DD version called their True Torque Power Module, which has been very slightly tweaked for maximum effect with their injectors.

I've put about 3000 miles on my truck with all my BOMBs, the HX40 and EZ (DD TTPM) being the most recent. I personally have seen a 2 - 2. 5 MPG increase over pure stock.

I will whole heartedly second the suggestions of Kat and others that you NOT ride in any other BOMBed Rams, or you will instantly be contaminated with this dreadful disease, and start blabbering and frothing at the wallet and credit card. I have met folks like HVAC, My 6 Eats V8's, Wiz1 and Csutton7, whose trucks are severly more BOMBed than mine, but I haven't ridden in their trucks :D

I most certainly want more from mine, but there needs to be a great breakthrough in fueling for the ETH motor first.

There is only one known cure for BOMBitis - MORE BOMBing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you unplug your EZ it will scare the hell out of you and make you think your truck is broke lol. I unpluged mine at the dragstrip and wow what a turd!! I alsmost killed it becuase it left the line so different. EGT was the same at the traps as it was with the EZ also. Been looking around at injectors now lol

CB,

I am in the market for the EZ. Did you get a good buy? Where did you / can I get the best price? I was on the fence but after reading your post I can't wait any longer. (Guages will also be coming with that EZ) Thanks
