injectors

Actually Bill and I did disscuss injectors. His advice is to pull the trailer a few times and then decide ... good thing. After purchasing the truck, trailer, TC, VB and EZ all within the past 3 months, there is not much $$$ left for injectors.

Steven this biggest thing you will notice with the EZ is towing. For me it was towing up grades and not haveing to kick it out of overdrive. Then you see the BIG difference EZ made.

I just had to jump in here. My EZ improved mileage by 3. 5 mpg! And that's actual pencil and paper figures. I love the smoke rolling out of the tailpipe every time I change gears :D.

Tom, Thanks for the reply for the HO motor.

EMD, I just looked at ADT's site and was wondering why the EZ is more than the EZ 3 Level. Is it just on sale or what? Just wondering! I seems the 3 level would be the best buy.

When i spoke to them 2 days ago, they said it was $549. 00 on special. I never go by prices on websites, i always call since alot of places are slow to update there sites.

I think you might be confusing some products here.

1)The Edge EZ has three levels that change when the fuel is added (at what boost level) you can change for smoke control.

2)The PowerEdge has three levels of power you can change in cab, mine for example was 50hp, 80hp, 100hp.

3)The PE COMP is a combination of the two above I believe 5 levels with 5 sublevels (for smoke control).

#1 and #2 are two very different boxes. So research them both before choosing one based on the price.

I just put the EZ in my truck, what a difference!, the truck feels like it has another engine, it just keeps going. Simple to install, took literally 2 minutes. I wish i had one months ago. I lucked out, my friend is going to let me use his while he is away for 6 months with the Navy. He obviously wont be needing it while his wife drives his truck. So now i have 6 months to set aisde the money for my own.

Gongradulations!!! You sure did luck out--being able to use it for 6 months, by the time he comes back you will have probably upgraded to the PE COMP box:D I can't beleive I waited 8 months to install mine--well yes I can--it took that long to save the $$$$ :D

I have read many posts over the past few months about what changes people experienced after they installed the EZ. I must say that I had a little more expectations then what I got in reality. The truck does seem to have more zip but not that dramatic. I was wondering if the difference may be an auto transmission compared to a manual. I don't see much improvement from a dead stop but after the turbo spools it does move. I verified that it was set on position 3.

Steven,

I feel exatly as you do. When I drove a manual with an EZ, it definitely pulls a lot harder once boost spools up, but I expected more. Still worth what you get though, I think.

I have the VA, the EZ wasn't out at the time I upgraded. I might add I'm very happy with the choice, the towing power is just what I wanted and hoped for, the mileage did go up about 2 mpg (pencil and paper). Yes I do haul, all the way up to 12,500 lb triple axle fifth wheelers. I transport TT and 5ers as a business, I should have said I do ALOT of hauling. Right now I have 60K plus miles on the rig and the stock clutch is just fine, no problems (had it checked three weeks ago and never a EGT problem). Towing a 31 ft TT a few days ago yielded 12. 4 mpg average for 1100 miles @ speed limits. Same 1100 miles empty yielded 22. 3 @ speed limits +. I keep very close tabs on my mileage, the fuel and where I fuel. I also do all my own service.

Never had a problem with the VA, 50K+ on her. Would I buy the same thing again? I honestly don't know. I had talked with the EZ people and was most impressed by them and if I could have waited I would have. VA or EZ I'm just glad I got one when I did,

I would have hated to have waisted all this time with a lack of power and less mpg. I also run the PS boost mod and elbow. By the way, I bought mine used from a TDR member that needed to go faster, all I needed was to pull harder. Whatever you do I agree, get off the fence

:)
