Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) peppers odb-2

I just bought Alex Peppers obd-2 Scan tool for a laptop. So far I can't get it to connect any tips specific to the CTD would really be appreciated. I'll call the tech support guy of course. But is this product worth having for our trucks

Well, if you are stupid like me and did not read the directions it won't connect. They sent you a little passcode deal that you have to type in to get it to connect the first time. I don't remember it exactly but if you read the directions carefully you will figure it out.

Thanks Dennis. I did get it to connect after checking a box for using the SAE ISO default in the gateway page,I found a few codes. Looks like it may take some time to get proficient with this. So far I haven't been able to read any sensor data.

Keep playing with it. Its good software. The only problem I have with it is that the ECM reports the MAP press wrong to the software so MAP press is screwed up. Its really not the Alex P software its the ECM.



Any way, keep playing with it...
