Tire Size Question (2wd)

Who's truck was this?!?!

A friend of mine sent me this that he found while looking for a truck. I don't know what the rules are for posting something like this, and I have absolutely no affiliation with the guy that has this truck, but this is the proverbial little-old-lady-only-driving-the-car-to-church kind of condition on this thing! This has to be about the best condition original first gen truck I've ever seen. Look at the bumper and paint! Unbelieveable!

When the seat looks that good... you know its gotta be nice! If the seats are worn... lots of things usually are! Thats the first thing I look at on a used vehicle. :)

I don't buy it one bit. 26k miles and the rear end is sagging that much??? Also someone PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that gauge cluster from a 91-93??? Thought the speedo clusters were the same from say early 80's to 90??? 'Ya had me til I saw the speedo... . '

silicone all over the front cover?? 26,000??? Don't think so. Unless of course, the factory sealer for the front diff is orange hi-temp permatex.

From the condition of the seat and brake/clutch pedals it sure looks low mileage to me. As for the sealant around the front diff cover, I assume that the fluid was changed sometime during the past 14 years even with such low mileage. I don't know about the speedo, but could it have been a late '90 model but got a '91 cluster? Dodge has been known to jump model years with their components before.

What I'd be more worried about was why it had 5,900 miles on it when it was first titled in January of 1992. The seller says that his Dad bought it new, so where did those extra miles come from?

Yep much too much for a 90 model. He'd be a fool not to take 10k from the dealer on trade in. C'mon 1990 owners, speak up on the gauge cluster!!!

Gauge cluster

It looks exactly like the inside of my truck except mine has a 200k more miles on it. My guage cluster is laid out the same as the one in the picture. Just wanted to answer bgilbert.

I don't know guys, it looks good to me. A little high on price, but where else can you get such a low mileage truck. If you look at the pics, the rear isn't sagging, it just isn't parked on level ground. It is possible the dealer used it for a couple of years on a dealer plate without titleing it and still sold it as new. Some states alow a pretty high mileage and still can be considered new if it hasn't been previously sold or titled. Sure it's not intercooled and it's a base model, but I've seen trucks priced higher in the classifieds here with lots more miles. He may get it, you never know.

Also, it does have a 999,999 mile odometer so I guess it is a 91 style cluster. A guy would probably need to see the build date to see if it was a late 90. Look at the needles on the gauges, they are nice bright orange. Looks well taken care of to me.

I'd say it was wrecked, rebuilt painted or something, if the vin code points to a 91, plus it has a 91 speedo cluster. It diffently has a 89-90 grill. Travis, look at the distance between the tires and wheel wells, diffently sagging in the rear. Beyond all this, sure great looking first gen. I sure wouldn't give 12. 5k for nonIC'd reg cab 1st gen.

I will concede that it looks very straight. I don't much care for the color, but if you look at the interior, it does look brand spanking new. The seat could be new, or reupholstered, but the dash, guages, vents, trim... . either it was completely refurbed, or it's the real deal. I wouldn't trade mine for it, I would actually be leery of that low of miles believe it or not, but it does look like someone has taken very good care of it.

The speedo could have broke (as was the case in my old truck) and driven for many miles then "fixed" or "hooked back up" and about the paint, even if it sits around, the paint peeled on those first gens, period. When I bought mine, the first owners said it started to peel after a couple years. It only had 64,000 on it. I dunno, I think you would have to really check it out close, and deffinitly know what a "real" first gen is supposed to look like.

Well it may be refurbed or not real, but my 90 is gold like that one, has been in my family since new, never peeled, has never been painted, and has those gauges. I don't know why anyone wouldn't think it's real, mine is.
