Perform Service light

We have a customer thats got a '08 6. 7L, and the overhead read out is showing "Perform Sevice". Before he was able to erase it but now he can't anymore. And its also showing a P051B code. I think the code is something about the crankcase filter. So we are wondering whats goin on with it? What needs fixed?

How many miles are on it? Could be the 67500 service for the CCV Filter and EGR cleaning.

It's got 67,544 miles on it. Thats what it is. We got an appointment at the dealer- Crown Motors in Reading-to have it done. They warranty the whole cleaning job.

I wish that was the case for us here in New Mexico. As I understand it, we have to pay out of pocket for our 67,500 service.

I was wondering if PA made that list yet. IIRC, our gas powered vehicles have been delivered with Cali emissions for the last several years.

I haven't been paying any attention to gassers but diesels are 50 state now iirc

From what I understand in New Jersey we get the Cali emissions but not the free egr service. If any fellow NJers experienced anything different please let me know.

Cl your warranty book that came with your truck

I found my warranty book. Here is what it says:
If your truck is equipped with a California certified emission control system and is registered in California, Massachusetts, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, or Oregon, the California emissions warranty - described in section 5. 2 - also applies.

I don't see anything that says emissions maintenance is covered during the warranty period but I may have missed it. Either way I am in NJ so I either have to do it myself or pay for it to be done.

That makes sense. We had called the dealer in Kfalls, OR and they would not warranty it as much as the one here in CA. Thanks guys for your input!
