I am considering these ONLY:

TST PowerMax (adjustable) (used)

Van Aaken CPC-R (used)

Diesel Dynamics True Torque

The first two are available to me as very good prices, the DD True Torque would be new.

Any comments appreciated.

I'm leaning towards the True Torque because no hardwire to the pump. Is it my imagination or do the hardwired ones have a greater VP-44 failure rate?

I just installed a South Bend Con O and dont want to go beyond it's limits. RV-275's or 300's are in the future too.

I've had the DD box for 3 years and no problems at all. It is an Edge EZ with DD specific programming, little less timing from what I've read on these boards. I went with it since I had planned on using DD injectors, but things have changed.

Indeed there have been failures of VP44's from tapping the wire but that is much more common on older units. Your '01 is new enough to make that unlikely. The DD TT is a simple plug in , under the hood unit. That makes it a breeze to install & it can be removed with out a trace in minutes. Your Con O is a strong unit & can handel 500 hp or so. You should have no problems there even going with Mach 4 edm's.

For what it's worth I like the van Aaken far better than the EZ on my '01 with DD2 injectors. I'm talking about the original vA. Didn't like how the power came on (abruptly) with the EZ but I'm not sure if the TTPM acts the same or not.

the early van aaken box wtih rv275's make an awesome combo. Very nice power, great economy, and with a good intake and 4" exhaust, I RARELY EVER had to back out of the fuel because of temps (loaded heavy pulling hills in CA).

The VA box has awesome low end power, hard to beat, and super simple to install.
