Is there any 'Box' for an '03 HO that I can put on that the dealer would not find evidence of, if I took it in under warranty with the box removed?

Are there 'safe' boxes for a stock '03 automatic? Safe levels of performance increase?

I just put the Power Pup, on performance setting out of the three included, and felt like there is too much power for the stock auto. Feels very mushy and like it is slipping. The power is awesome though, at least on my 04. 5 600 motor.

The tow setting sucks. Gets worse mileage than stock, and no noticeable power increase!!!

Not sure I like the Pup?!

Man this stuff is confusing. Some say the PUP is the best, and the next has a slipping trans on the conservative setting? WTH?? Doc

Just get an Edge EZ... it takes 2 minutes to remove or install. Just don't install the boost elbow it comes with on the Turbo while you still have a 36000 mile warranty. With an 03 305/555 you'll get 5 settings to play with.

Without the elbow you'll want gauges though to know when to back out of it. Temps will get up there on the higher settings.

Buying a box is just like buying a computer... as soon as you get it, something else will come out better. And everyone will tell you how much better the other one is. You just have to do your own research and look at the numbers and choose. Or wait 2 years until the best ones survive and the others are by the wayside.

Yeah... that's a good point. Gauges should be the first mod for anyone at least an EGT for sure. If a guy tows without guages make sure to keep the EZ on setting 1 or just remove it for a heavy load since you can't monitor EGTs... You're pretty safe if your empty.

Maybe the TDR can start offering a EGT gauge with every new membership... that would be cool.

Heck, there is too much power for the auto in stock form IMO. First thing anyone with an auto should do is bomb the trans. You know triple disc converter, valve body mods, etc. , before even thinking about anything else!
