I have finally finished the install of the Powershot 2000 on Ol' Wheezer. I took longer than most people, because I had to Bomb the Bomb #ad
#ad
On reciept of the system I decided I did not want the regulator in the bed of the truck, so I seperated the reg. from the solenoid valve and tank fitting. I then mounted the reg. under the hood where the stock airbox used to be. This involved chasing down the fittings to allow this to work. Then I decided I wanted to be able to hide and lock up the propane tank, Which led to the purchase of a horizontal mount RV tank and the required mounting brackets. See what I mean about Bombing the Bomb #ad
Anyway I proceeded to install the system on the truck. After reading the instructions I decided to do it my way anyhow, luckily Kieth sends plenty of hose and wiring with the kit. I had to fabricate a bracket for the regulator, which turned out to be simple enough, seems I actually saved something off a job that fit the bill nicely. Then I proceeded to the running of the hoses, wiring and switches. Once I got the hose and wires into the cab I was faced with the old "where in the world am I going to put these" Question. Out came the cup holder, in went a custom fabbed plate to mount the switches in. Works great, looks good too. After making sure there weren't any leaks in the system, it was time to test it. Almost immediately I ran into a problem. It seems some idiot has his timing so far advanced that at full throttle I have some serious detonation. I decided to back off on the timing a smidge to see if this would help. While trying to loosen the Injector pump gear, I managed to break a bolt on my brand new Miller timing gear puller #ad
So I guess the driving impressions will wait until later. From what I can tell so far, this is a very well thought out system, it is doing everything Kieth told me it would. It is an extremely complete kit, coming with more than enough hose and wiring to install it. The swiches come pre-wired, even I couldn't screw that one up. The directions lean more towards a Ford install, but I imagine they will be more Ram friendly as more of us give Kieth feedback on our installations. The kit comes one of two ways, with or without an adjustable boost control, the adjustable control for High Horsepower Rams, which lets you control the total boost to the regulator. And with or without an adjustable propane orifice, again the adjustable orifice is for High Horsepower Rams. I know as soon as I get the "bugs" worked out of my setup I'm going to be one Happy Rammer. Sorry about the "Rambling" Post, (Couldn't help myself)

I just did one too, I ended up having to put a gate type shut off vavle in to limit some of the lpg being injected, it seems they are above the upper limits of lpg for half way sane bombers. It now works perfectly.

Adam,

The Powershot 2000 sounds like a better system than our Bullydog`s.

Less expensive too.

I may have gotton this one confused with the one Nowel is selling. If I'm not mistaken its the same price as bullydog but the same kit as ats(liquid).
My bad I think.
ps. half way sane bombers don't go all the way. LOL

Adam,
The Powershot 2000 is a different system altogether, this one works on vapor injection, as opposed to Nowell's, which is liquid. I can just imagine the trouble I could get into with His system, as I'm not a halfway sane BOMBER #ad
