I just bought a set of Performance Friction Carbon Metalic brake pads, does anyone know if these are better than the OEM pads that you get at the dealer. And is there better brake pads on the market?

I haven't put them on yet,so I can take them back.

Thanks.

Squeeeeeeeeeeeek

I don't know about using them on a ram but i do have a set on my work truck. Its an International 4700 wht 4 wheel Hyrdaulic disc brakes. The truck sits at about 35-36K with a full load of Batteries. The last set of pads was Raybestos I think, right now it has PF Carbon metalics on it. They are the most god awful squeeking brake pads I have ever heard. Those babys sound like they are made of Cast Iron lol(just imagine a rake dragging down a chalkboard. ) The shop that put them on had used them for the first time on my truck(36K truck with only 4 brakes is a great test) well he went back with Raybestos. On the upside they stop awsome!! And if you get them smoking hot they don't squeek for awhile. And its funny watching everyones windows go up as I come to a stop at lights. Let us know what they do, if they aren't to squeeky I might consider some for my ram

I have them on my truck and they are great. They stop a lot better than the Mopar pads. I have not had any squealing whatsoever. Mine have over 30K miles on them now and are about 40% left. I got 40K out of the Mopar pads and they were gone. Put them on, if you don't like them you are out $30 tops.

I put them on my '97 Cherokee. Stops a lot better and the hotter the better. I haven't experienced any unusual squeaks. When I need brakes for my truck it will carbon metallic on all 4 corners.

I've got a set sitting in the truck, waiting for the install. I got them from AutoZone and they come with a lifetime warranty (no questions asked, dodn't even need my receipt since they have the purchase information on computer).

I used a set on my 98 gasser and they lasted twice as long as the factory pads. Then I got a free replacement set which stayed on the truck when I sold it.

On the school buses, that I can no longer work on, we use Performance Friction pads on the buses with hydraulic brakes. They're the same brakes that Bad340fish has on his battery truck.

PF Pads

I put a set on mine about 18K ago; 60K from the OEM pads.

No squeeking or squealing from mine. They've been on about 6 months. The dealership wanted over $100. 00 for replacement OEM pads - no way!
