I sent this to Edges tech line, but was wondering what you all thought about it... I really don't think that this is how the truck is supposed to act (with the box), but let me know what you think.
My thought is the "boost fooling" isn't working and the computer is de-fueling to keep the boost in check??? Could I be correct? I don't have the boost gauge on the truck so I don't know what it is doing... .
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Last November I bought an Edge EZ for my new 04’ Dodge RAM (the newer bow with only the 4 performance levels). I ran the truck on level 3 for about 5,000 miles (without the boost elbow). About a month ago I set the box on level 4 (again without the boost elbow) and it seemed to have more power than level 3 in first and second gear. Then the power was falling off pretty hard about halfway through third gear and up (felt more like stock power). I thought maybe the truck was running out of breath so I installed the boost elbow over the weekend. Now I have lost all the low end power I had and it didn’t gain any of the mid-upper range power either. Is there a test I can do to see if this box is working properly? I do not have ready access to a dyno so I can’t give hard data, but here is what I can say about the performance.
Stock truck- barely spin tires at a dead stop.
EZ lvl 3 (no elbow)- spin tires completely in first gear, and scuffing them at the beginning of second gear.
EZ lvl 4 (no elbow)- spin tires completely in first and second, but then falls on its face about half way into third.
EZ lvl 4 (elbow)- barely spins tires in first gear and only pulls slightly harder than stock (the rest of the way).
My truck is a 04 QC 2500, with a 48re, 4X4, 3. 73’s, 305/555 CTD, completely stock other than the edge box and 8,700 miles. I do run cleaner/ lubrication additives in the fuel about every couple of tanks so I don’t think it is a contaminated fuel issue. Also the fuel filter and air filter have been replaced so those shouldn’t be an issue.
