My grandfather called me today and asked me a question about on what chip or module I recommended for his truck knowing that I learned a lot from this website. He has a 2002 3/4 4x4 auto bone stock. he uses his truck a lot on the ranch. his main concern is pulling his round bail trailer. He wants to add some power nothing extravagant. this is something I couldn't answer for him since I have no experience with a chip myself yet. he wants to keep everything pretty much stock and something that will not toast his transmission. Ive been reading the tons of threads. What do yall recommend for him thanks.

Actually, the Edge EZ is a timing and fueling box. I'd go with it - it really woke my truck up back when it was stock, especially in the low and midrange.

Another option would be to do RV275 injectors instead of a box. That is what we did to my Dad's 3500 dually and he sure likes it.

I gotta agree with JR2. For heavy offroad pulling, he will like injectors better than a box. Smoother power and easier on the torque converter at low end.

I've tried it both ways in my '01 ETH/DEE & I also agree that as a stand alone bomb, the injectors are better, but the EZ is sure easier!
