Ted J,I read your post on the Kohler V twins,I'm not trying to be a smart guy,but If you talking about the Command series,V twins,I must correct you. The 18-25 hp engines have many differences other than governor settings. First, maximum governed speed on all Commands V-twins is 3750 RPM no load,no matter what hp. I have the 25hp,my buddy has the 20,there is a big torque difference. This is because the 18-22 hp "small block" commands are 624cc,they are almost the same, with spark ,and carb differences. The 23hp is 674cc,the difference is a larger bore, the 25,and 26EFI are 725cc,with an even larger bore. This is why they are stronger, not the governor settings as you posted. There are other differences, like built in oil cooling on 22,23,25,and 26EFI,to keep oil temps down. The 23. 25,and 26EFI also have a much bigger, high capacity mufler, that is quiter, yet flows more. If you have any ideas on how to get a little more power out of my 25,and keep it under 3800,let me know what i need to get and how much $$ you need.
