Not wanting to start any filter wars, just want to know if anyone has heard of these. From what I can find, they are a Pennzoil product. Here is my dilema, purchased lifetime oil changes from dealer(Lithia) when I purchased my truck. Took it in for first oil change and they used a Performax Oil filter? Previous truck I did my own oil changes and used only Fleetguard filters and Rotella oil. I would have thought a dealer would only use OEM Mopar parts?

No, never heard of that name but I believe I remember a post or posts by TDR members over the last few years reporting engine failures while using a Pennzoil filter.

All a lifetime oil change contract with a dealer means is you have paid to have service writers contacting you during every oil change (using questionable oil and filters) to upsell you for all sorts of parts and service you don't really need and probably don't want.

Walk away from the dealer and the oil change contract and do your own oil service with quality oil and filters. Your truck will last longer, provide better service, and your operating costs will be less, even after losing the cost of the oil change service.
